Hilke Marit Berger

With a background in communication- and media studies and a PhD in cultural studies, Hilke is passionate about urban research at the intersection of different disciplines and the power of collaboration. As Scientific Lead of Hamburgs City Science Lab she is driven to foster open creative settings and international networks to explore and develop the potential of new technologies, co-creation and radical imagination for fair and just futures.

Rico Herzog

As a trained engineer, Rico conducts research at the interface of data science, spatial planning and political science on a wide variety of simulation methods. Whether explorative modelling, AI or serious gaming: the focus is on complex systems and their design for a sustainable future.

Annika Kühn

As a sociologist and media scholar by training, Nika has a keen eye for the spaces in-between. In her current research project at the CityScienceLab Hamburg, she works on urban futures, their historicity and connecting paths through explorative methods. In particular, Nika is interested in how various data can be combined to foster radical imagination, storytelling and collaborative design thinking in order to create resilient and equal futures.
